It was a Mardi Gras party where the mom asked me to babysit. She said I could bring a friend to help, but then called and said a lot if her friends couldn't make it and not to being help. Then of course they all showed up. It was madness. They ordered pizza and the kids just ran through it. One kid was being potty trained and peed on the carpet (at least it was his house). The parents would come upstairs to check on their kids. I just kept apologizing and saying "they are all safe...that's all I can do though." They didn't mind though. When it's DH's nieces (7 & 4) with LO I can handle it but I prefer not to because they do NOT listen. Just watched them twice in the last few weeks. They wear me out. When it's my niece and nephews I can handle them along with LO (total of4) because they actually listen! I was also 8 months pregnant. But, they were my friends kids and mine while my friends painted a room for me. The oldest was 11 and the youngest was a 10 month old. I took care of them for 3 days (even overnight). It is a lot of work...the youngest is 19 months and my LO is 4 months. It has shown me that I want at least a 3 year age gap between my kids! Well one was my son, whom I brought with me (turned the babysitting into a sleepover). The baby slept through the whole evening though, so it was basically just watching two four year olds. It wasn't bad at all! The kids stayed up past ten and I had to put them down separately, but it went as well as it could. Tomorrow they don't have school, so they can sleep in so that's good too. I think I could babysit/parent more than two kids, but they'd have to be older. I'm no longer equipped to watch a baby! What's the most kids you've babysat at once?
