These are all great suggestions.

@Silva: good point. Perhaps some chicken noodle soup is best and avoiding acidic tomato sauce.

For a recovering stomach I would make homemade chicken stock. You can make homemade chicken soup, packed with spinach, carrots, other veggies and meat – or just sip the broth straight by itself. Plus, it basically cooks itself so you don’t expend energy in the kitchen.

Green smoothies are a great suggestion!

I like to do a bowl with quinoa, black beans, tomato and avocado with a little balsamic dressing drizzled on top.

I second the smoothies. i make one every morning. They're very easy to get down when you're not feeling well. If you don't have a specific smoothie maker, you can use a regular blender/food processor.

Also, lots of OJ/liquids

I think tomatoes also have a lot of vitamin C (probably need to double check that) but tomato sauce could be good!

If you are just getting over illness, I'd take it easy on your tummy! Maybe some broth with noodles and cooked veggies to start?

I have a great recipe for sweet potato burritos with black beans and spinach.

ETA: This was the base recipe, but I roast seasoned sweet potato cubes, and saute then partially mash the sweet potato with black beans that had sauteed with garlic, onion and spices, and add it spinach (sometimes just frozen and thawed, sometimes fresh wilted in). I make big batches of them and freeze them unbaked. One of D's favorite meals.

If you have been sick, whatever you can do to get food down and keep it that way. I like to make green smoothies with spinach, banana, mixed frozen fruit, and whole milk. Lots of nutrients without having to really eat.

ETA: i add plain 2% greek yogurt too. Lots of protein!

I'm I'm desperate need of nutrients after puking and hardly eating from this stomach bug. Now I'm trying to plan good ways to get some nutrition and I'm at a loss. All I can think is perhaps chicken pasta with tomato sauce and spinach. Throw ideas my way and recipes if you have them! Thank you
