I agree with carb eliminating in general although I do hear that it's important for pregnant women NOT to eliminate whole grains...

So what you guys are saying is the Krispy Kreme doughnuts from today were not a good idea (yes, that is doughnuts PLURAL).

Water, Water, more Water. I don't follow that well enough myself but I can drop some pounds and eat less when I stay hydrated.

Try to drink only water! I pretty much only drink water and hot tea with no sugar or milk added. It's super cost effective (especially at restaurants!), keeps you hydrated, and helps keep my weight down since pop and juices can be heavy on the calories and sugar!

@Pink Champagne: I used to believe that with all of my heart, but my body disagreed. :(

Every time I've cut out whole grains in the past, my appetite is reduced, I lose weight, and all of my bloodwork improves. It's crazy. Now that I've read Wheat Belly, I think I am going to commit to never eating wheat ever again.

don't follow the governments "standards" for nutrition... like you - I believe that a lot of weight (and disease) issues are a result of sugars and carbs.. yet the food pyramid recommends several servings of grains a day and I don't think that's healthy.

I switched to 75% gluten free and I love it. love love love it. I feel so much less... bloated, or sick after eating "bread" like items.

No matter how you swing it in your head eating "lean cuisine" and alike is NOT healthy.

No eating after dinner!! Makes a huge difference. I am small and don't lose weight easily, but if I stop eating/drinking anything but water after dinner I will lose a couple of pounds!

Mine is that some people are sensitive to carbs/sugars... and if you're cursed in that way like I am, then totally eliminating bread and sugar can make a huge difference.

I also recently discovered that eliminating wheat can make a huge difference. My brother did exactly that, and the weight has been melting off without any other diet changes!
