My LOs are also 3 & 5. Bedtime is 7:30, they get up at 6:45. LO1 doesn't nap at school, but will occasionally on the weekend. LO2 naps 1.5 hours at school fairly consistently, but has occasionally not napped (but still has quiet time).

My son has had a 7:30 bedtime for his entire life. Just before he turned 4, he had dropped his afternoon nap and was sleeping 11 hours overnight. Standard wakeup time is the same every day, 6:30.

We just got an ok to wake clock so I feel like our sleep has been AMAZING this week. Bed is between 730 and 8 and her clock lights up at 545 am. Nearly a full hour later than she was trying to get up regardless of bedtime or naps during the day

My 3.5 year old goes to bed at 8 and wakes at 6, and still naps for 1-2 hours (1 hour at school, 2 hours on weekends at home). But since the time change, we have struggled to get her to sleep...tonight was 8:45. Hope she adjusts soon....she's also been sleeping till 7, so it's not all bad. But we are up early for work anyway, so we'd prefer she was asleep earlier.

@Grace: I agree, BUT they do get a 1.5 hour nap at school! I might ask their teachers if we can try and forego naps so I can get them to bed earlier. It will be tough but I'm trying to think ahead--I'm due with a 3rd in late September and need them to be up and at 'em!

My four year old goes in her room to bed with her younger sibling at 7 (really 7-730 but the past week we've been going by 715) but she doesn't usually fall asleep for awhile. She's usually up by 7 the next morning. No naps. I'm thinking I might let her stay up later on the weekends, but I think anything after around 8 and she does sleep longer the next day. I think the latest she's slept in has been 8 recently.

3.5 yo, bed at 7:30 and up at 7. She isn't napping often anymore. Unfortunatly, I think that your kids naturally getting almost 12 hr sleep shows you that they want more than the 10.5 hr they are getting normally.

My just turned 3 year old goes to bed between 6:30 and 7 pm. He wakes up before 7 am, I think around 6:30, some days as early as 5, but stays in his room till 7.

He stays in his room for a two hour nap but often plays for at least 30 mins of it.

I suspect that he is awake for a while on some nights before going to sleep but he stays quiet so we can't be sure. I teach out of our home so later bedtimes are not an option right now.

Once my 5yo dropped her nap at 3.5 she started sleeping (or I should say staying in her room at least) from 7:15ish to 7. I think she usually sleeps a bit less than that but it also gives her time to wake up slowly. First we did ok to wake clock until she could read a digital clock. I'm going to have to start waking her up next year for kinder but hopefully it will be ok by then to get up a bit earlier. Same bedtime I think.

B turned 3 in January. He still naps, but I think we're on borrowed time - it takes him longer and longer to fall asleep. He usually gets 60-90 minutes in, though. He goes to bed at 7:30, and we have to wake him up at 6 and he's usually terribly grumpy about it. It makes me feel terrible.
