Oh OK great! I was stressed that I had to figure out some schedule for him. That helps!

I wrote out what you just said! :) When we started he was on demand for naps and feeding. I wrote about how his first nap is usually X time, but varies in length, so put him down 2 hours after whenever he wakes up. It worked just fine and our teacher had no issue. Every morning I'd tell them when he'd last eaten/woken up so they knew when to give him the first bottle/nap.
As he got bigger he got on a more steady schedule.

Yeah, like @Smurfette, my daycare doesn't follow the 2 hour awake time = time for a nap. He's often up for 3-4 hours sometimes with them (and then sometimes I get a cranky baby when I pick him up... grrrr). But he'll often just fall asleep wherever he is, like in a swing or on a playmate!

They asked me if she had one and I said no. Other then she eats every 3 hours. I told them we try and put her down for a nap after 2 hours awake time. They don't do that, they just wait till she gets fussy or starts rubbing her eyes.

I had to provide a schedule, though I think it was really meant for older children (the same form is filled out for all kids, regardless of age), so I just put stuff like "eats every 2.5-3 hours, depending on wake-up" and "goes down for a nap after 2 hours of being awake"

Regardless of what I put down though, my daycare tries to feed every 3 hours (though they'll do it sooner if necessary) and is pretty willy-nilly with naps. They don't have a schedule and let the babies just nap whenever and wherever!

Sooooo... I wouldn't worry about it too much! Just write (in the margins if you have to) what you're thinking, like "eats every ~3 hours, needs a nap after 1.5-2 hours of awake time"

I have to bring in a schedule for my 5 month old's daycare since he will be starting next week. I don't know what to do because right now it is kind of flexible/on demand since he's been home with me! ie, he always naps at 9 but when he naps again depends on how long that first nap is. He always gets tired 2 hours after the first nap unless it is a short nap then he can only make it about 1 1/2 hrs. How do I put that on paper?!

What does your LO's schedule look like? Did you have to provide one for your daycare?
