@MegWag: @lilteacherbee: Thanks! She's actually doing pretty good... for being in hospice. She used to live alone and it was awful because she couldn't take care of herself and was so unhappy and negative. Now she's so happy, she loves it there! I'm glad that she's spending her last days happy :)

@lilteacherbee: I used to love sleepovers at my grandma's too! She would always say we could have a midnight swim (which was really 9:00) or midnight snack. But we knew if we chose the swim, she'd also give us the snack.

Aw, that's so sweet. Sorry to hear that she's in hospice :( You'll always have those lovely memories though! My favorite memory of my grandma ("Nanny") was when I would stay the nights with her on weekends. When I was really young, I'd sleep in her bed and it would always take us forever to fall asleep. She would tell me all kinds of stories about when she was a little girl. Then when we would wake up, my grandfather ("Grandaddy") would cook us all elaborate breakfasts. They were sooo good!! He would sing silly songs and play the harmonica while he was cooking haha.

Also, DH and I broke up for almost an entire year when I was in college. I took it really hard and had a rough few months there. When no one else could make me feel better, I'd go to my grandparents' house and lay in bed with my Nanny. She'd tell me about how in love with my Grandaddy she was from really young age. Before they got married, they broke up for awhile too (and as she said, "he 'courted' other girls" lol), but eventually everything worked out. She really helped me to believe that if it was meant to be, it would happen. And it was :)

So sorry to hear about your grandma! I have so many special memories with my mom's parents. We grew up in the same town and spent lots of time together. I remember lying on the kitchen counter while my G'ma washed my hair in the sink. During the summers, while my mom and G'ma were at their painting class, Papa would take my brother and I swimming at his country club and then we'd all meet up for lunch at a little diner. They also used to take turns reading with us at night when we stayed with them. We started trading off sentences, then worked our way up to paragraphs, pages, and eventually whole chapters. It makes me very misty to think about and I'm dreading the day that they are no longer with us.

My grandma is in hospice, so I've been thinking a lot about the good times we've had together. My favorite memory would have to be "I love you" days. She would take me on the beep beep (golf cart) to do all sorts of fun things. We'd get our hair done, go to lunch, go shopping and buy me something sparkly. I love you days were days spent just the two of us.
