LO is 19 months and I love the non stop chatter. I can hear how she is taking in the world. She's starting to form relationships with her grandparents and has friends in daycare and the neighborhood.

I love that my 3 year old is so huggable still. I love that my 6 year old is such a poised littl girl who helps her classmates out ("I help Andres because he needs help with his writing")

Almost everything! He's starting to joke with us a little, like pretending he's going to give us a bite of his food, then snatching it back and laughing hysterically. I love the silliness, the interaction, the new milestones every day, etc.

At 20 months I'm loving the silliness. She'll start dancing during dinner to make me smile and tells jokes. She likes to run her fingers on my hair and say mama hair wet..... when it's dry... then starts laughing hysterically.

C is 2.5. My favorite thing is just watching her learn. She comes out with something every single day that we had no idea she knew. It's beautiful to see. She can sing a decent portion of the alphabet (jklmnop still kind of escape her. lol), she can count to 10, she knows a whole bunch of songs and can name a bunch of animals... and I had no idea! One day she was just doing and saying it.

@Mae: I miss this! DS has just got serious about army crawling and I cannot leave him for even a second without him getting into something he shouldn't!

That said though, it's still probably my favourite thing at 9 months - he's been trying so hard for so long, and now he's finally mobile I love just plopping him down on the floor at the playgroup we go to and letting him decide where to go and what to play with, instead of me deciding for him.

Miss A is about to turn two and I just love watching her develop into her own person. Her language skills have really exploded lately and I love hearing A bust out with new words and sentences :-)

@SAHM0811: A is really affectionate at the moment and I love her bear hugs! I also love watching her care for her "babies" and it melts my heart watching her love on them :-)

At 14 months, I adore hearing her say words. Her lovey is called Bun-Bun and I just melt when she holds him up to me and announces Bun-Bun! Amazing! She also rocks backwards and forwards chanting row-row row-row (from Row Row Row Your Boat). I love her little voice!!

@Mae: we just had our 4-month visit with our ped and she said the very same things about DS's age... They are past the fussy newborn stage, more fun and interactive, and not too mobile yet... love!!

I love my 6 yo's age right now because she is as independent as ever, enjoying school (she WANTED to do homework on a Friday night in our hotel room while we were on vacation), and she is awesome at her chores and playing with her younger siblings.

I love my 3 yo's age right now because the tantrums have subsided recently and she's a hilarious conversationalist (for her age). She is really affectionate too.

DD is 16 months and has a ton of words, but my favorite thing is when she "talks" in complete "sentences" with inflection and gestures and everything.

The fact that she can interact really well but is still immobile! She's 4mo and I feel like I have tons of fun talking to her and getting her to smile and "talk back." But I can also set her on the floor and go to the bathroom with confidence that I won't come back to find her on, under, or behind any furniture :)

My kids are almost 3 and almost 5, and they are both great ages in very different ways!

My favorite thing about 3 years olds is how fast the kids grow and develop at that age... it's astonishing to see how much they're learning and growing every day! The biggest surprise to me so far has been that at that age, their parents and their family are their whole world. Their love and attachment to family is so strong at that age... I didn't realize how much I would love that feeling of being a tightly bonded family! I felt it as a child, but it's just different being on the other side.

Our son is about to turn 5, and it's a very different age from 3 so far. He still loves his family so much, but now we're just one planet in his solar system. He has friends now and they are really important to him. And he has school and after-school programs, and a growing list of activities that he's learned he enjoys. He's become so independent, and I'm proud of how kind and thoughtful he can be at times. He's really growing up!

As for my favorite part of parenting a 5 year old, it has to be how he can tell me what's on his mind and we can connect mind-to-mind in a way we just couldn't earlier. We take walks in the evening when we can and just talk about what troubling him and what he's up to. I love it, and feel so close to him!

What's your favorite thing about your LO's age right now?
