My nails grow ridiculously fast. Before pedicures I actually cut my toenails really really short to make the pedis last longer. On my feet I go for dark reds or purples in the winter. We both got massages, facials, and pedis. It was his first spa treatments of any kind in his life! Lucky for the pedicurist, Rob Sr.'s feet are actually pretty smooth and nice. At first he chose a very 80s pink and I wasn't too into it, but then he said "no, this one" and pointed to a melon color called, appropriately, "cantaloupe". I said "sure!" and then spotted a bottle of big silver sparkles. So now my toes are cantaloupe with silver sparkles on them.
