I stalked it until it went on sale, then waited for the 30% off on final sale items promo. Then the code didn't work, so I called in the order and got the shipping for free.</p> <p>All in, $104 for a dress that originally retailed for $350. You have to know when to shop, not only where. It involves missing out on some items though, but I've got enough good deals that this method works for me. I also buy when I don't need stuff, but know I might need it in the future.</p> <p>I also think Kohls gets a bad rap, but I get a lot of stuff from the Dana Buchmann and Vera Wang lines. If I go at the right time, there are racks of sale clothes and I can usually score designer clothing for reasonable prices. I always have success at The New York Look and there's a store called Teddy I go to for more low key jeans and tshirt type clothes. I'm not afraid of getting things altered, so recently for a wedding I bought a $350 dress on sale for $70 and paid about $50 for alterations. He exchanged it and that belt fell apart too. He just kept it and duck taped it. I hate when I forget to read the tags and they're handwash or dry clean!
