Lol you totally jinxed yourself! ;) I hate the refusal to be held or put down. I usually lay her down and just stay with her. Even if she is crying I feel better knowing I am there for her even if I don't know what to do to make it stop.

Tylenol for pain and then just a slow standing rock. This only happens when he is teething. Otherwise we just put him on his crib. Rocking usually makes him laugh! Lol. Good luck!

Nursing usually works, even if she's not hungry, it helps reset her I think. We lay in the bed in her nursery in the dark with the sound machine on until she is calm, then put her in the crib and more often than not, she scooches around and goes to sleep.

If that doesn't work, we will bring her to a dimly lit living room or turn the lights on low in her room and read books or do something quiet for a little while then try again.

And of course, if I know she's teething, I usually give her the ibuprofin as soon as I walk into the room!

@littlejoy: I know, right?! We probably won't be off them for another month but he's only getting 1-2 a day. And dang it, I'm tired. :silly:

@ladybee: No bottles after 14 months!?!? Oh goodness, I was planning to milk them for a bit longer. It's like a tranquilizer at nap time! ;)

We used to take the kids out on a late night stroller ride... the combination of bumpy streets and cold air would knock the kids out!

A bottle. Our pediatrician has made it very clear that at 14 months he should be off bottles but sometimes it's all about survival.

Car ride. Always the car ride. Until this went on for a month...then the pediatrician told us to try benadryl because he was not sleeping because he was so overtired. Once he got caught back up he went back to normal.

But if its just a one time thing? Car ride.

@Danizaur: LOL! We usually just bring her out to sit with us for a bit. A little reset. She will usually just fall asleep, and we transfer to bed a bit later.

@Danizaur: we have put him in the car and driven around in desperate situations. On a tough but not desperate night, being in the room with him but not engaging with him helps. He wants my presence, but if I look at him or talk to him, that riles him up.

T is fighting us to death whenever we try and rock him to sleep tonight. He doesn't want to be alone and doesn't want to be held either. He's screaming bloody murder. He's teething and overtired but usually isn't this bad. Ugh.

What's your trick?

PS. Someone hacked my account yesterday and made a post about me having baby fever. That definitely wasn't me!!
