He has a smoothie daily. It's the only thing I can get him to eat a lot of so he starts the day on a happy full note!

Usually it's yogurt plus banana plus a berrie of some sort. Plus half an avacodo when we have them.

Breakfast is the same every morning -- oatmeal, breakfast sausage and fruit. They don't get bored of it, and I can whip it up in 10 minutes. If they weren't allergic to eggs, I would probably serve that too.

My son does not eat much at breakfast but he's been sick so much with daycare viruses (thus requiring a dose of meds or antibiotics before going off to school in the morning) that I've been making luxurious platters of food for him to pick at. He doesn't eat much of it, so a platter usually lasts 2 days, but yeah, its annoying. I usually offer a carb, a protein, a fruit, a sippy of milk, and a pouch. And he usually asks for bites of DH's breakfast yogurt.

At night I take a sectioned plate and I chop up 2 frozen mini pancakes or waffles, drizzle it with a little maple syrup and butter, then I chop up a breakfast sausage or Canadian bacon, or I make a 1 egg omelet (plain, with chopped meat, or with shredded veggies). Then I throw a banana or a small tupperware of chopped fresh fruit on the plate with a pouch and put it all in a gallon size ziploc bag. DH nukes the stuff that needs warming in the morning and then adds the cold stuff to the plate and hands DS a cup of milk. Today he even had a Fig Newton added to his plate - he's on super strong antibiotics and I'm desperate!

On days I'm home for breakfast with him, I may also make a small bowl of instant oatmeal or rice porridge and try to get him to take a few spoonfuls between bites off his plate. Or share my bowl of cereal. Or give him a Fig Newton.

In addition to the above, we do cheesy egg quesadilla. Eggs in a tortilla. Or cheesy egg sandwich. (Egg, english muffin, cheese). Oh, and berries...lots of berries.
Sidenote- we get those belgian waffles from Costco which are decent, but LO saw the eggo display in the grocery store this weekend and dropped her jaw and was like WOW!! I don't know what it is about kids and eggos.

He wants yogurt and cereal every day. Used to love bananas, but has been off those. But then again he gets a whole second breakfast when he goes to daycare, I think they rotate a little, but its probably english muffins, croissants or cereal there.

French toast! She doesn't like eggs, but I like having her get some protein in the morning, and I found that she will eat french toast like there is no tomorrow!

- Eggs with cheese Once or twice a week. It's actually not too cumbersome. Takes me maybe 10 mins.

- Smoothie maybe once or twice a week (I pack it with really filling and nutritious stuff - Greek yogurt, spinach, banana, frozen berries, PB2, ground oatmeal). I got a stick/hand blender so it's actually pretty quick and easy. I wouldn't do it so often with a full sized blender to clean.

- waffles and fruit or waffles and yogurt.
Might make it a little more interesting if you let them use the yogurt as a dip? I've started putting some yogurt in a little plastic bowl and he takes his mini waffles and dips them. Fun for him.

- PB toast with bananas or strawberries

- what about trying new exotic fruits? I just gave my son kiwi for the first time so that's been exciting for him.

In another food rut...I never know what to give the girls for meals, but especially breakfast. It's a lot of frozen waffles/pancakes, toast and sometimes bagels or dry cereal. Oatmeal is sometimes in the rotation but they also eat a lot of these things for lunch too so it gets old. Looking for some fresh ideas! What is your LO eating for breakfast these days?
