My LO is 6 months old, and his bedtime varies from day to day, depending on his last nap. He recently dropped his 3rd nap, and we had to push his bedtime up to 7 PM. He wakes up twice during the night with an official wake up time around 8 AM. I'm thankful that he doesn't wake up earlier or else I wouldn't be able to function.

Claire's bedtimes depends on when she woke up from her last nap — it has to be within 3~4 hours or she will become overtired — because as much as I would like more structured naptimes, her naps have never been consistent and sometimes she will nap only 30 mins, and sometimes 2 hours.

With that being said, it usually works out that we will put her to bed between 6 and 8pm...and she will usually sleep for 10-12 hours straight. When we sleep-trained, we took Dr. Weissbluth's advice to heart that an earlier bedtime will help a baby sleep better, and it worked for us. We also LOVE this handy sleep chart: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11GHo4keUb2TVJUlSL1kD6HQcEgaNFBmzoQoOzcpcyas/edit?hl=en&authkey=CPXE1bsO&pli=1#

I'm more like OP with the unstructured bedtimes. Her natural time to fall asleep for bed is about 12-1am, and she wakes up between 11 to 1pm depending. I don't try to fight it, because she's been sleeping in 5-7 hour chunks since 4 weeks! I value my sleep too much to try and change it. Guess I just have a rock and roll baby ;)

Our schedule sounds similar to Bees. We set a 7pm bedtime and she wake at 7am. If she doesn't, I'll go and wake her. We've been strict with it since her earliest months and its worked out well for us. I don't have to go into work until 9-9:30am so having her up at 7 am gives me the morning with her while I make us both breakfast and take her for a stroll around the block. She goes down for her first nap just as I leave for work.

My daughter is only 2 months old so we haven't implemented any sleep training of any sort. But lately it seems as though her bedtime falls anywhere between 9-10pm and she'll sleep 5-6 hours until 3-4am. After a feed, she'll go back to sleep for another hour or two...Or three, if I'm lucky. Then our day starts all over again between 7-8am.

We tried really hard to set our son's bedtime around 930 because a later bedtime and later wakeup works so much better for our schedule, but we were pretty much forced to move it up. His natural best bedtime seems to be around 730. He gets up for the day around 7 am but we are still doing one or two wakeups in between.

charlie's bedtime has been 7:30 since he was an itty bitty baby. we have been super duper strict with bedtime and have very rarely missed it. but we have the luxury since i work from home and don't have to rush home to get him to bed.

he was sleeping 12 hours, but the past couple of days he's been waking up at 6:30. it could be because he has a cold and has been slightly under the weather this week.

7:30 - 7:00am would be a great schedule for us because when he wakes up at 7:30 we get no time together in the morning before daycare, and it's a mad dash to get ready and out the door!

My daughter goes to bed between 11pm and midnight and sleeps until 11am to noon. My husband works third shift, so when he gets home in the morning, he gets four hours of sleep before he gets up with our daughter, and then when I get home from work around five, he sleeps for four more hours. So this sleep schedule works pretty well for us. If his work schedule changed, we might try to put her to bed earlier/wake her up earlier, but this schedule works perfectly for us right now.

My husband and I are late night owls. We sleep so late. My daughter's bedtime is 9:30-10:30. She gets 10-13 hrs of sleep a night. Usually wakes up at 7:30a-9:00a. I'm so impressed by parents who set a 7:30 bedtime for their children! Most of the time we're not even home by that hour! I feel like such an unstructured parent!

What time do you put your LO to sleep for bedtime and how long will they sleep?
