"We believe that exploration and discovery are vital to child development. Our individualized and nurturing approach to early education is supported by the Montessori Method and Magda Gerber’s concept of educaring, also referred to as Resources for Infant Educarers or RIE. Positive interactions between family, child, caregiver and environment is what we strive for in all aspects of our philosophy and methods." ... From their website.

DS is at a Reggio preschool. We love it! I wish our public schools involved more play and child-driven learning, at least at the kindergarten level. I hate how CA public schools are not set up to support what research has proven is essential for early learning!

If you have a kid or kiddos in school or going to school, do you know what the educational philosophy is?

Our zone school combines Montessori and Reggio Emilia (which kind of surprised me for public school for some reason). Another school I visited is strictly Reggio Emilia.

I'm cool with it. I like the inquiry based philosophy.
