We were out in the sun from 9-1 yesterday ad I forgot to put sunblock on her face! She had a pink nose and cheeks last night. And, of course, she refused the stroller so she didn't even have the shade from that. I wore her in the ergo that whole time.

@FutureMrsMcK: wow! All sorts of "fails" in one story, but I would have probably done the exact same thing! Lightning is no joke!

Speaking of, there was bad lightning here last week and wasnt sure if outdoor swim class would be cancelled, since its in the next city over.
I called, and they said sure, come on over. Only 2 mommys showed, the second I got in the water the lightning started (and class got cancelled). I had to drive home with LO and I soaking wet in our bathing suits. I turned on the tv and found out we were under a tornado warning. Oops!

@FutureMrsMcK: No judgement here...it was either that or let E get pelted by hail and possibly struck by lightning? I'll take the 1/2 mile car ride without the car seat.

We were taking S's 8 month pictures and we had him on a chair in our room. It was only like a foot off the ground but I was trying to make him laugh while DH was snapping pictures. I turned my head for half a second and he tumbled off the chair. Screaming ensued...both from S and me. I cried for like an hour straight thinking what a horrible mom I must be for letting him fall off of a chair. He was totally fine, but very traumatic for both of us!

Last night LO fell while trying to stand on her own and hit her head on a (soft) corner. She was so upset and I felt really bad. So today the same thing was happening and I saw her falling towards the corner. So I went to get her out of the way but instead of catching her, I just pushed her on the floor. She just stared at me like I was bullying her.

I'm still carrying a lot of guilt about my big recent one. I made the best-split second decision I could, so please don't judge me. I think I made the right choice under the circumstances.

We're a one-car household, and DH has it most days. We were out of town last weekend and I HAD to go to the grocery store while he was at work. It's a 4-mile round-trip walk, so not a huge big for me and E. We do it maybe once a week, sometimes twice.

Anyway, last week when we left it was clear and sunny. When we left the store it had gotten cloudy on one side of the sky (the direction we were walking). It was still sunny in the other direction. It got steadily darker as I was walking, and I figured it was going to rain, so I was practically jogging to try to get us home before it hit. A little under 1/2 mile later (or 1/4 of the walk home) the sky opened up. Not just rain, but also lots of lightning, and hail.

It came in too fast for me to turn around and get back to the grocery store, and this stretch of road is on along side a cemetery, so there was no porch I could wait on. I wouldn't have minded walking in the rain (E was mostly covered) but lightning. And hail.

Then a middle-aged woman pulls over and offers to drive us home. But no car seat. I had no idea how long the storm would last, and even getting back to the grocery store or other shelter would be at least 1/2 mile, and I was getting pelted. So without thinking too hard I found myself agreeing. She helped me load up my groceries and throw the jogging stroller in the back, and then I wrapped my arms around E and put the seat-belt around us. In the front seat, because the groceries/stroller were in the back. And she drove us the rest of the way home.

Naturally, the storm ended as quickly as it had started. It was only lightly raining by the time we got home.

So that's my big, huge Mom-fail. I rode in the front seat of a stranger's car holding my baby.

L slid off the couch and into the coffee table for the first time today. I knew it would happen eventually but I was sure it'd be on DH's watch, not mine. Oops.

I pinched LOs thigh in a sleeper snap during a middle of the night change...I didn't even realize till she screamed (i.e., I fully snapped it on her skin). She had a round bruise for a week. I felt so bad!

I came back and he had army crawled to the entertainment center, pulled all the dvds out and was eating one of them.

Going to have to baby proof this weekend now he's mobile!

Yesterday M was in the baby pool and was leaning over to get a toy and about to topple face first in the water. I was trying to keep her upright but I ended up kind of punching her in the face. Screaming. Awesome. :(

I pinched my LO's finger with the pacifier clip after playing on the slides. He screamed so loud in the park. I felt so bad. I didn't see his little finger there when I went to clamp on the clip.

We went to an animal show and he got upset he couldn't get up so he peed his pants on purpose. So we made him sit in it for the rest of the show (30 min show half way through).

I went to put my son on his mat for tummy time and accidently banged his head on the floor. I felt awful - he already hates tummy time, way to make it more traumatic!

We were in Target yesterday and I gave her a sippy cup while I was shopping. I looked down at her at one point and she had turned the sippy cup upside down and was shaking it as hard as she could. Naturally, the cup leaked.

She had soaked the stroller and her pants. Ooops. I didn't have a change of clothes for her. Double ooops. My husband decided we would get her out of the stroller and check her out. She wasn't *that* wet so, we just let her walk around to dry off. Super parents over here!! :)
