A lot of parents would be mortified if my child was yelling "Penis!" at the playground, so I want to be cognizant of that.<br /> Unfortunately, our culture has not progressed to the point where everyone sees the words penis or vulva the same way as they see ears or nose. That's evident by the fact that many adults still don't use the anatomical words. It shouldn't be this way, but it is.</p> <p>I also don't want my child to use those words and see a reaction of shock or be "shushed", which is likely to happen if she uses them in public.
