@regberadaisy: Glad you found a schedule that works for you! If you're having issues with the pump then you should def try to get a different one! Or even consider renting a hospital grade pump. They are usualy around $70/mo though. I heard that BabiesR US is renting them now.

To help with pumping: do breast massage/compression while you pump. Look at pictures or videos of your baby. (I actually took a video of my LO nursing and would watch it while pumping at work and that helped me a lot), Take deep breaths and try to relax the best you can. If you're tense your milk will have a harder time letting down. If you have a medela pump and it has the let down (button with the little drops) button then use it!

Warth helps too, so if you ever pump at home but a warm pack on your breast for 10 mins before you pump.

@regberadaisy: I'm on basically the same schedule as you, including the 6:30ish am nurse before I leave. Today is only my third day, but so far, not bad. I'm also hoping I'll get better output once I get used to the pump. I barely pumped at all on maternity leave (maybe 4 or 5 times) so I'm very much still learning the ropes!

@matador84: nice! Hopefully in time my boobs get used to the pump more and I can get more per session. That way I can cut out the lunch session!

I only have time to pump twice so usually around 10 unless I'm bursting and 2. I get about 10 oz a day,

@catomd00: @Seattlemom: I ended up pretty much following catomd00's schedule. We leave the house around 7am so a 630 am nurse works best. Then I go 3 hours in between. so 930, 1230 and 330. I was able to get enough for her bottles but I could tell I wasn't emptying because I had issues with my pump.

Hopefully in time I'll pump more and be able to freeze some! That way I'm prepared for growth spurts and when she starts taking more in a bottle.

@regberadaisy: I would do 10, 1 and 4. Unless you want to be full for her when you get home, then 10 and 1? Unless you have a super abundant supply try not to go more then 4 hours.

It's best to pump around when she will eat. I pump 3x because dd eats 3 bottles at daycare.

Here's my schedule:

6:30 am nurse
715 leave for daycare
930 pump
1230 pump
330 pump
430 leave work
600 nurse
730 nurse to sleep

How often do you pump at work? What time do you nurse LO in the morning get to work, pump, leave work and get home to LO to nurse again?

Trying to figure out the best pump schedule for me. The plan is to get to work by 7:30 and leave by 4:30. I'm like 10 minutes from work so hopefully I can nurse her at 7am and right when I get home. Hoping to pump 2-3x a day. Just two if I can get away with it. Hoping one of it is during lunch.

What do you think would be the best schedule for me?
