It is really annoying so you can't avoid kids peeing in public there. When we first moved here, I noticed so many babies had pants on that had a slit on the but and they weren't wearing diapers. Then I saw the mom or Ayi would just let them pee on the street. It was really shocking at first. I've seen toddlers pee into water bottles at the mall. It was in a bag though, does that count? We always have the bags that come with that travel toilet seat in the car. He had to go really bad one time so we pulled into an empty lot so he can pee. Otherwise, no peeing in the bushes for him unless we're camping. I get the emergency situation though. While potty training I always had a travel potty with us in the car and I dumped it out, usually in a public restroom (like at the park) but if not, in some nearby bushes. Then I would disinfect it. We try to be discreet and it is usually an emergency. Wen we were potty training and driving sometimes they gave me a 10 second notice so we would just pull over, park and let them pee. Maybe I am teaching them bad habits but it takes a long time to get four kids out of car seats and into a bathroom. My first thought was, dang must be an emergency. But then I noticed the playground bathroom was open.</p> <p>Charlie sometimes asks if he can pee in the bushes. The first time he asked, I told him that only animals pee in the bushes. I regret that word choice because now when we see little kids peeing, he asks me, "Is he an animal?" I gotta come up with a better way to explain public peeing to him.</p> <p>My take is: sometimes you just gotta go!! But if you can avoid the issue through planning or public bathrooms, that's my preference.</p> <p>You? </p>
