If we never left the house for a runny nose we'd never leave the house!

Cough we will do things too if it is a dry cough.

Like @Chaosmaven: I use his mood as a judge of what we will go and do.

I use DDs mood as a barometer - so for a runny nose or basic cold symptoms, if she's happy and active, we go. If she's lethargic or cranky, we skip. And I stay home for fevers/vomit/diarrhea - no need to make anyone else sick!

@Foodnerd81: yeah exactly, I don't feel so bad about the runny nose. It also depends what the activity is...if it's a gym class, I might be more inclined to skip it than his cooking class, where they all have their own food and utensils, etc.

@hilsy85: sounds about like what I do. I feel bad because I brought her to a party on Sunday when she just had a runny nose but it turned into a wet cough that night. I feel like the cough just spreads germs really really well.

Runny nose: I go.
Sneezing a ton: I stay home.
Cough: depends on the cough and the frequency. If it's a dry cough that I think is just from nasal drip, then I will bring him. If it's a junky wet cough and he's coughing a lot, I won't take him to class.

If your LO has a cold, cough, run of the mill winter sicknesses, at what point do you continue to go to classes and activities, like music class, story time, children's museum?

I consider this stuff separate from daycare which is necessary, where this is just for fun really.

C has a cold with a cough still. I decide not to go to our class this morning but I'm getting stir crazy! Hopefully by tomorrow she will seem well enough to go out!
