@polkadots: we just potty trained (Veterans Day weekend)...she's 24 months. We still use a diaper at night bc she sleeps 11.5-12 hours. She also wears at diaper at naps but it's dry 99% of the time.

So we used to offer milk at meals and also before heading upstairs for nap and bedtime routine. And she was offered water throughout the day. Since potty training she still has a water cup available all day at home and milk available at the same times. The thing that has changed is I don't push water on her when we are out and about...I don't give her water unless she specifically asks for it.

We didn't modify daytime drinking but did cut off nighttime drinking about an hour to 1.5 hours before bed but we also night trained at the same time we day trained.

We are just starting to work on potty training. I let LO drink as much as she wants during the day and I know we need to start monitoring her intake to get anywhere with potty training. Now she drinks milk with breakfast, lunch and dinner, and always has water available all day long.
