Early December last year we started trying to eat healthy. I found a recipe for a lighter version of Coco Van in a health magazine. I followed the recipe, but the sauce did not appear to be as thick as the picture. The potatoes and chicken were unflavorful. I don't know what the regular recipe tastes like to even know how far off the mark I was.

This is the one I have. I was too nervous to just toss the eggs in the water. Glad I'm not the only one who can't read tbsp and tsp!

@artbee: not heard of those, but sounds just like what I need thank you! Oh and I've had a few tsp/tbsp mishaps! The most horrific was adding a tbsp instead of tsp of fish sauce into a Thai soup!

@illumina: I bought one of those poacher pods. Works well!

Once I confused the teaspoon for tablespoon when putting salt in my challah. I still get made fun of for my salty challah.... But dh was so sweet, he still ate it!

Ugh, I haven't had any major flops in a while, but tonight I spilled an entire pan full of carrots covered in oil into my oven. The upshot is that my oven is now clean...2 hours later!

Prior to this, it was rock hard loaves of whole wheat bread.

I can't think of any right now, but the first time DH and I tried to make Pad Thai from scratch was an epic disaster of takeout pizza proportions.

I tried making mozzarella cheese which everyone swears us super easy but I wound up with something that resembles a bouncy ball with lumps... The worst part is it requires the expensive milk- I wish I drank it instead, it was so yummy!

It's been awhile, because I haven't tried anything outside my comfort zone in some time. When I'm pregnant I cook easy, and therefore screw up less.

A couple Sunday's ok. I was trying an easy chicken picatta recipe. I guess I didn't pound down the chicken enough cause they were taking forever to cook. I was cooking them on med-high like the recipe said, only med-high on the new stove is apparently high and they all started to burn. I gave up and had DH take over.

I was making frosting for cupcakes a couple of weeks ago, and tried to split my normal recipe in half. It totally didn't work and instead of yummy strawberry swiss meringue frosting I ended up with a strawberry soupy mess :(

I made this cheesy chicken and rice in the crock pot from Pinterest... I'm not sure where I went wrong but it was HORRIBLE! haha! I always have bad luck with rice.

The one before that was my fault, but DH was on the receiving end of it. I bought the wrong size bag of pinto beans and forgot to tell DH to divide it in half.... so when he put them in the crock pot they only had about half the water they needed. Our whole house smelled like a fart for about 3 days :)

Mine was tonight! I was reducing balsamic vinegar to toss with our roasted brussel sprouts but I got distracted and left it to reduce for too long. Now there's just balsamic syrup stuck to the bottom of the pot.

Before tonight it was Valentine's Day a couple of years ago. DH and I were making a fancy cheese soufflé, which never rose so we ended up eating ramen! Ramen is now our V-Day tradition lol
