We transitioned using the Halo swaddle sacks and freed one arm at a time. By the time he was 12 weeks, he slept with the flaps wrapped around his torso. Swaddling for him was a take it or leave it thing. Tried multiple times from 4-5.5 months and just was hell! He could roll from 4m on, but we couldn't break him of the habit! But he still didn't want to be totally free so we did the Merlin too. Loved them, he slept so well and they are too freaking cute. She really liked to suck her fingers &amp; self soothing seemed more important to her than being swaddled. I did get both size Merlin Sleep Suits, but she had already started rolling onto her tummy by then, &amp; while she couldn't in the suit, she seemed happier being able to sleep on her tummy. So after a couple weeks of intermittent use of the suits, I gave up &amp; stopped using them so she could roll over. With Logan it was more like 2 months. D was breaking out of the swaddle and waking himself up. She kept busting out of the swaddle sack we had. I don't think she liked her arms being restricted and she either sleeps with them by her face or up flat against the bed. She hated being swaddled so we had to wait for her to fall asleep first. We switched to the zipadeezip around 3 months. And did that until probably close to 13 mo! </p>
