I'll be having 4 showers, and I think we will get the majority of our stuff at those. We do plan on looking for furniture soon, but won't purchase until we know the gender. Then we will start on the nursery! </p> <p>We did get some gifts at Easter for the baby, so it's nice to have stuff the closet that is actually baby related! When we were searching for furniture, we realized how small the dressers were. We didn't want a changing table, either. So, we bought a new long dresser from IKEA in the same color as the crib we bought form BRU, and used an existing dresser from IKEA. We didn't know the gender yet, but wanted gender neutral furniture. There was a deal on cribs at BRU at the time that we seriously couldn't pass up, so we bought the crib when I was around 15 weeks pregnant.</p> <p>We found out we were having a girl in May, so it was all uphill from three. We started our registry, and bought everything else we needed after the baby shower. </p> <p>The room was filled with its furniture by the end of June, though. I was really chomping at the bit to get something baby, and I had seen a great diaper bag on sale that I just lurrrved (Rebecca Minkoff's Knocked Up bag in python), so I bit the bullet and ordered away.</p> <p>After the NT scan (at 11 weeks) I purchased a bedding set--I knew I wanted a neutral nursery. I had an elective u/s (and amnio) at 16 weeks, and when I found out I was having a baby girl, I went out that afternoon and bought 3 little outfits, just to have something girly to hang in the closet. (I also bought some burp cloths that day, too). </p> <p>So far, that's all I have purchased. I did recently receive a Carter's gift box from my sister-in-law (with some scrumptious girl gear), but I haven't purchased anything else yet. Next up is the crib and other nursery furniture!</p> <p>p.s. That being said, I find myself itching to start purchasing things! We're definitely finding out the gender, so I'll wait to buy any specific boy stuff or girl stuff, but when are you guys buying other items, like blankets, nursery accessories, strollers, breastfeeding equipment, etc? I'm sure I"m jumping the gun on this...but for instance, I saw Aiden and Anais blankets on Gilt.com yesterday and really wanted to get some! But didn't pull the trigger =P </p>
