My dad is a professional photographer, so he will be taking birth photos and doing a newborn shoot. We are also getting the hospital photos because it's our first, and we're planning only, child, and we don't want to miss out on those photos too. A local photographer I've done work with on other stuff specializes in newborns (which my dad does not), so we're doing a shoot with her as well. I imagine we'll do quarterly shoots after that with my dad. I kind of regret not doing maternity/newborn photos, because now I feel like we can't do them with the rest of our kids. We also had some taken at 18 months and 2 years. When I was pregnant, I was interested in doing a "baby plan" (multiple shoots @ a discount) with a photographer but I couldn't find one that was affordable enough so I'm thinking of taking LO to JC Penney or Sears to do a 3 month and 9 month shoot. Then we'll go with another pro to do a 1 yr shoot! My daughter wasn't quite standing up on her own at the time and I kind of wish I just waited a couple more months to do it now. But we would love to do it once a year as well. I got lucky and LO was a flower girl in my sister's wedding at 11 1/2 months and it was actually the same photographer, she got a lot of shots of her and us as a family so it was like a free 12 month photoshoot, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten one. </p> <p>I'm really not planning on getting more, we just can't afford it. Then DD 2's newborn shoot.</p> <p>Our last family pro pics were taken last Dec. My hubby was in a suit, I in a nice dress and the girls in their holiday dresses. They were 3.5 yo and 6 months at the time. </p> <p>DD had solo pro pics this summer when she turned 1. Oh we also had pro pics at her party, if that counts.</p> <p>Our next shoot is probably next spring. I want some by the beach at sunset. I'd been planning on doing one for Olive's first birthday, but I don't know if I'll be able to plan it in time so I was thinking of waiting a couple of months until she's a little bit older and able to stand/walk.</p> <p>I hate doing photoshoots (thinking about hair, makeup, and what everyone will wear stresses me out, and I just hate posing). But without them, we'd have no family pictures!</p> <p>I'd love to do them once a year when the kids are little because they grow up so fast.</p> <p>Do you plan on doing any photoshoots? </p>
