I never cover up. I usually wear a tank underneath a regular shirt so I pull the shirt up and the tank down, so not much is exposed.

I use a hooter hider but it's really cumbersome after about 4 months. My son likes to grab the cover and pull it down or stick his arms out or try to eat the thing! I hate it!

I do the two shirt method. I only cover with a blanket if I'm nursing at a table for a meal with more than my immediate family (which I do often at restaurants so I can eat). I figure it's too hard for the people eating with me to act like there isn't a boob out. No matter how casual they want to seem it just gets awkward without a cover.

I have small girls, so usually just free boob it. I'm always on the ready in case she pops off so I can quickly cover up to avoid a nip slip. In tight areas like a plane I'll drape a muslin blanket over a shoulder and use it to shield the onlookers.

I used to use a specifically designed cover, but lo went through a loooong phase of hating bfing in public. So I stopped carrying one. Then one day she wanted to again, and all I had was a light infinity scarf, and that worked really well! I use that now

My go to method is t shirt over tank top, t shirt up tank down. Then when he inevitably pops off 1 million times I can quickly pull the t shirt over. With a blanket, he just acts crazy and would make it much more noticeable punching and kicking the blanket flailing about. Never tried an actual cover though.

I didn't answer because I've only done it 3 times and I used two different methods (I have an almost 6 week old). Once, I did the breastfeeding cover, once an A&A blanket.

I'm still using a shield, so it's particularly tricky for me. Also, my LO has a bad latch so I can't just put her on without looking and several tries--so some kind of cover is essential because my nipple is out for quite a while before I get her on correctly.

Even later when (I hope) our latch issues are better, I have pretty huge boobs so I feel like it will always be very visible without a cover.

My boobs are small, and with a nursing tank under a t-shirt or button-up, I always felt covered enough.

Also, I struggled so much with BFing issues that using a cover just wasn't on my radar.

Generally I don't use anything, but occasionally I will use a cover if I'm at a birthday party, out to eat, or with people I know would be uncomfortable with it. I'm pretty discrete when I nurse so I'm not too worried about overexposure.

I've tried several things, but what works for us best is either nothing, or an A+A swaddle tied in a knot around my neck and sort of hanging in the middle. I don't use it to cover LO up or over his head, because sweaty! Instead, it's discretely covering most of my upper chest, and is ready to soak up milk spray when he pops off suddenly, or when he drools. It's multi-functional!

I have a few nursing covers and used one while I was in the hospital. I threw the lighter one in my purse. We have a private nicu room with a curtain that can be pulled at the entrance and I pumped with it that way the first few times. I was organizing the baby stuff and noticed I have a bunch of nursing covers. I have a shirt type, a hat type, two nursing covers with a rigid flexible top wire (one made with a thicker fabric material and one thinner). I wasn't out in public but I felt pretty comfortable using it. I don't have any issues with people BF without a cover but for me I wanted some extra privacy when I BF so that's why I got nursing covers. (Plus, I've always been more conservative on showing skin.) Since it's so light and has that flexible plastic top to it, I can definitely see myself using it again, if I had to BF at the mall or something.

I nursed with a cover with LO1 and just got a nursing scarf for LO2. I gave used it three times so far and like that it covers front and back and stays on your shoulder. LO is only 9 weeks so he still takes a minute or two to successfully latch so I feel more comfortable covered up for now. Although one of the times was at church so I think I would probably stay covered (in the pew) so I didn't shock anyone into making me move to the baby room.

I use a nursing cover that has the insert at the top to "open up" the neck line so I could see her. Blankets never worked for us since DD hated being so covered and we both get really hot/sweaty, etc.

I am not comfortable with nursing without a cover b/c she suddenly/randomly pulls off sometimes! And my boobs were so big that even with the two layer thing, I always felt like I'd flash somebody.

E has always hated a cover. I either wear nursing tops or Tami tanks from old navy (sometimes with another shirt sometimes not). I try to just nurse him quietly and these days without the crazy gymnastics that comes with nursing a busy toddler.

I had a cover for a couple of weeks with my first, but once we got the hang of it, I nursed openly absolutely everywhere - check-out lines, professional sporting events, Ikea, restaurants, etc. Everywhere we go, on the go. Now I am 2.5 years into nursing, I wouldn't even notice if my boob was hanging out of my shirt in public with no baby on it. I do the nursing tank/shirt thing because yikes re: postpartum belly.

I tried a cover a few times and hated it, so then just used a light blanket, but eventually stopped with that because LO just pulled at it all the time and it was a pain to keep in place. I always wore a tank top under whatever shirt I wore so my belly stayed covered.

I wear a v-neck shirt so I can just unclip my bra and pull my breast up, versus messing with layers of clothing, but after I get him situated, I set an A&A blanket on one side of my shoulder (if he's not in the sling), depending on which side he's eating from.

I don't cover him up, but I do drape the blanket so that half my boob is not hanging out for all to see. I'm an F, so I feel exposed without something there.

I voted for other because it was sort of "all of the above"...

When LO was a newborn I had a cover purchased and we used it fine. Then at one point when he started realizing that he was covered, he disliked it and was distracted, so we no longer could use it. I always has breastfeeding tanks which works out great, and my boobs are relatively small, so eventually we ditched the covers and I don't BF covered. It is still quite discreet because his head basically covers my entire boob. So I guess my cover was his head haha.
