DS is 2.5. He favors his right hand for eating and coloring. But he kicks, pushes on his scooter, throws a ball, and bats equally left and right.

Super early it was obvious she was right handed...she sucked her right thumb from a couple months old and used her right hand almost exclusively as a baby. I was a little worried because I read they should be ambidextrous for a couple of years. Now at almost 2 she uses her left hand occasionally but draws, uses cutlery etc. in her right hand.

At around 2.5 she was starting to favor one hand over the other. At age 3, it's now very obvious that she's right handed.

DS is 1.5 and has favoured his right for a while. He eats only with his right hand - he colours with both, but when he's colouring with his left hand you can see he has to hold the crayon extra tight and gets his face all close to the paper!

DS is 2.5 and I think he's left-handed. For a long time he was using both hands pretty much equally, but now I am noticing more and more that he favors his left when he uses utensils and scribbles with markers. I was born left-handed so we've always been curious too! DD is solidly right handed.

DS is 2 and strongly favors his right hand. He has since a baby, though (which isn't really normal, but he was born with torticollis and that caused his early hand preference along with his weird asymmetrical crawl)

He uses his left hand fine, but whenever he eats, colors, or throws a ball, he always uses his right hand.

This is really interesting! DS is only 10 months but very clearly favors his left hand already when throwing (which is frequently bc he's obsessed with balls!) and we are really curious to see whether he ends up being a lefty!

I've been wondering the same thing--my LO uses her left hand more for eating, but does everything else (drawing, coloring) pretty equally. My husband is convinced she's left handed, but I've read it's too early to tell. He keeps telling me all the presidents have been left handed, and it's a sign of intelligence.

How old was your LO when you could really tell if they were right or left handed?

C will be two this month and still uses both hands for most things (will switch crayons from one hand to the other, sometimes both at once, eats with both hands). She seems to use silverware more in the left hand though. My pediatric OT sister tells me this is normal for her age but I wonder when it usually becomes clear. Dh and I are both righties.

Eta: DH had always wished he was more ambidextrous so he is thrilled that she still uses both hands.
