BF levels are no indicator of ovulation, it's individual to every woman. I took the mini pill whilst BF. There weren't any downsides of it for me. You're best protected from starting to ovulate again if you are breastfeeding during the night too. A lot of women start ovulating again once their babies start sleeping thru the night around 4-6 mos old. Or else around 6 mos old when they have to start feeding baby solids. I think it was because I still did a lot of skin on skin and my body knew LO was there, it was weird.
