We have always changed on the floor. LO is so wiggly I've always been afraid to change him on the changing table!

We're starting to fight this now - she is SO wiggly. I usually just change her on the floor in the livingroom, but at night we use the change table.

Still changing J on the changer at 19 months. We just give toys, books, etc. for him to play with and most of the time he holds still enough for the diaper change. If he starts wriggling, then I have to just hold him down.

15 months and still changing her on the table. She is SO wriggly though, and flips herself over every time. Maybe I just need to learn how to change her diaper while she's on her hands and knees, since she doesn't seem to mind that! Hah...

We're still using it at 23 months for every diaper change. He goes through wiggly stages, but we try to give him things to distract him. The snot sucker, a bottle of lotion, a book, ask him to comb his hair, sing songs, make faces... some attempts are more successful than others.

We still use the changing table at 14 months. It was getting insane a few months ago but I put up some craft paper on the wall next to the changing table and she gets to pick a sticker and stick it up there every time she gets a diaper change. It's been a real sanity saver! She spends most of the changing time picking out her sticker. If she's already upset when I put her on the changer I'll just grab a sticker and stick it on her hand or foot and that usually distracts her.

L is almost a year old and we were starting to run into this problem. This is not really a solution and is actually something I feel terrible about, but one day he fell off (yeah, I know. And he fell away from me so despite my lunging for him, I couldn't catch him!) and apparently he learned his lesson because he's been much more cooperative since then. I suppose that's not super helpful though, I certainly wouldn't advocate letting your LO get hurt! Thank goodness he was fine, just scared himself.

I know a lot of people probably would've moved him to the floor after that, but he is SO much more wiggly and difficult on the floor, instead I just got something to help the changing pad stick to the table (it slid from his extreme bouncing, causing the fall.) I'd suggest re-arranging the dresser so there's nothing to grab near her, and if she has a favorite thing to grab just hand it to her. I let LO play with the wipes packet during diaper changes - it's the only time I'll do that and he's fascinated.

We have a cot-top changer which we love - it's at exactly the right height for us! But LO is such a wriggler these days, rolling over during changes, trying to grab everything from her dresser!!!

Did you eventually retire your elevated change space? What made you decide to do this? What did you do instead??

We have never changed LO anywhere other than her nursery. I'm not a change-in-the-lounge kinda girl.... :meh:
