I think stick to sleepers for the whole newborn phase. I mean, maybe a cute outfit or two is good. But I hated (and he hated) stuff going over the head! Looking back I would do just sleepers. So if there are onesies you really like, get them in the 3-6+ month size. I will say this might be a little different for girls because a lot of their tops are longer than the shirts for boys. Basically, he has to have a top, pants, and socks for daycare. During the summer, he wore shorts instead of pants. With the winter, he wears thermal onesies and fleece pants on cold days. </p> <p>ETA: at birth, he wore kimono tops and an A&amp;A blanket.
