Our center has a 0-6ish mo room and an "older" infant room for those who can at least sit up on their own. LO started in that room at almost 9 months. They're on a two nap schedule right now, but they'll move to one nap when the babies get older. It's working well for LO - she's adapted to the nap times. I like that they have her on a pretty good schedule.

@MamaCate: Thanks! Yeah she's been the oldest baby in the infant room for about a month now so I'm glad she's moving up.

Our daycare center has an infant room for up to 12 months. They transition to the toddler room once they have turned one and can walk in shoes. Infant room is all on demand but toddler is set like you described--one midday nap, set snack and lunch times. LO moved up right at one, so the last few weeks the infant room tried to move her morning nap a little later and have her eat a meal around the lunch time as well. We had a good transition.

Hope your LO does well with the changes! It should be more exciting to be with the moving, active babies.

Our daycare separates the mobile/walking babies from the younger ones.

My LO just moved up to the "big baby" area and they have a schedule in place. In her first room they just did whatever schedule the parents wanted, which, for us was just on demand - feed her when she's hungry, put her down for a nap when she seemed tired, etc.

Now she's in a room where they have scheduled nap and meal times. Nap time is just once a day and they do school provided meals at 8, 11, 230, and then an afternoon snack at 4/5.

She's currently the youngest one in there at 10.5 months. The rest are all well over a year and walking.

When did your daycare expect kids to follow a set schedule? I'm not really concerned with the change, I was just curious how other locations do it.
