@sapphire: we did this with my 20 month old.. on day 4 she would watch her self pee on the floor but still didn't get it... we're back in pull ups now. She was doing a lot of what you wrote. She has since peed on the potty once at daycare but we've backed off at home but if she sees it and wants to go we'll put her on.

I potty trained my daughter at 28 months. It literally took one accident and she just *got* it. Maybe she just isn't ready yet?

@sapphire: I wouldn't push it too much at that age unless you feel like you have too
DD was about 20 months and was very interested some days 100% other 0% I took her lead and never pushed it
By 21 months she was about 80% by 22 months 100% for day
Now at 24 months 100% day outings and naps
Almost at night too

@sapphire: we are potty training right now too, but this is our third time trying. She refused the first times we tried a few months back (she will be 3 in 2 months). Finally I filled her up with tons of liquid and sat her on the toilet with my phone. It took a while but eventually she peed and we made a HUGE deal out of it.

We're potty training this weekend using the 3 day method (with a few modifications). My LO is 22 months, highly verbal, knows when she needs to poop but does struggle with knowing when she needs to pee and how to release the pee. For about 6 weeks she has been very interested in the potty and asks to go throughout the day although it typically appears that she asks to go AFTER she has wet her diaper and wants a change. She goes to daycare and they take her to the potty about hourly. She's had a couple of pees and poops in the potty before this weekend.

We have about 3 hours left in day 2. She pooped twice in the potty without an accident. For pee though, she has mostly peed on the floor. We've learnt her pee signs but she won't release on the potty (most accidents right next to the toilet) or she'll only try for a few seconds and then pee on floor soon after. the successes we've had is rushing to get her on when we notice the potty dance.
Advice? Commiseration? How long did it take your LO to learn to release on the potty?
