I'm not sure if this is true but all of my family and friends have said their boys were slower to talk than their girls. M's first word is more ambiguous. She said "hi" in response to us saying it at 10 months, but she doesn't say it on her own, so I'm not counting it. She does say dog, but says it more like "gog" at 10.5 months. DS is 10.5 months and I'm sooo anxious for him to say his first word! He can make dadadada sounds and says them a lot but hasn't connected dad with it. He doesn't try to copy us yet either.
