@plantains: @MsLipGloss: Well Reagan must be totally vain cause she just likes to look at herself in the mirror and she kicks the piano. But I don't think she gets she is the one making the music. Although the last couple days she rolls to her side and scoots herself around so she can't do anything on the mat.

@shopaholic: She won't grab anything on her own. Just likes to eat her hands.

Xander's 3.5 months and seems to JUST start to be into playing with toys, but it's loosey-goosey. We have an activity mat with things hanging on it, and there's one item he seems to like a lot - it has crinkly feet and a jingly head, as well as rings. He'll grab for it and try to bring it to his mouth to chew on it. BUT when I free it from hanging and hand it to him, once he drops it, he doesn't seem super interested in it anymore. So I don't know!

I try every day to put things in her hands. She's been grabbing the rings and batting at the toys on her activity gym and stroller toys for at least a month, but I have to work with her on loose toys. But just in the past week she's been opening her palms more often, so I give her a circle ring and the infant Sophie teether to grasp now. The little Sophie has been going out with us and its 50/50 when K can hold it.

@MsLipGloss: that play mat was the spot for the longest time. Our entire mat was crinkly, she loooooved it. Plus the mirror cheered her up no end.

@plantains: My LO would kick at the items dangling from her play mat (and grab for the crinkly sounding book) at 12ish weeks.

It was around 4ish months that she would hold and at stuff. I tried so hard to get her to like Sophie but she just wasn't interested. Five months is when she was more interactive.

It was around 3 months that she really started engaging her toys. We got these blocks as a gift and she freakin loves them (now at 5 mo). They're not something I probably ever would have bought, so I'm so happy someone gave them to us. Some have handles and there are different textures. She loves the crunchy noise.

R is 3 months but won't grab toys when we put them in front on her. She was laying on the floor this morning and would follow the rattle. I would put it in her hand and she would hold it for a second and then let go.

When will she start "playing" with toys? And what did you have that they liked? I think right now, all we really have is rattles.

I tried to get her to chew on Sophia instead her hand but it is too big for her I think.
