I'm due January 7th, so I'll be 31 weeks. It's early due to the holidays and the fact that my sister who's one of the hostesses is a flight attendant and needs a long lead time to make sure she's off. Also my Aunt who's co-hosting is coming in from Wisconsin and is hoping to beat winter weather.</p> <p>I also think some friends might have something up their sleeves but I'm not sure and it's kinda of rude to ask. Awkward because they are on the guest list for the Nov. shower.</p> <p>I might get a little something at work. There have been things for some folks, seems to usually be departmental in nature. I'm not a big gift person - bridal shower was awkward! But these aren't really gifts for me but for the baby anyway. Since I'm due right after Christmas, I think I'm thinking people would want to get it out of the way before the holidays. I'd think my MIL or my aunt-in-law (who is more like a SIL) would mention it, but I have no idea what the etiquette is with showers and family and who offers. </p> <p>Of COURSE we will provide/be able to provide all the necessities for our child and don't expect people to outfit our baby gear for us. But we just moved, just graduated grad school, just started new jobs, are having the oldest grandkid on both sides so don't have any family to give us hand-me-downs and so some help would just be really, really appreciated, you know? </p> <p>I keep seeing shower ideas on pinterest and really want a friend to get pregnant so I can throw her one, but no one I know is really close to that! We ended up having the shower around 34. I'm 5 months and no one has really mentioned it! I was visiting family back home from VA (I live in MT) and they had a mini-shower for me, just books, onesies, and a few gift cards. Everyone was asking "oh, has anyone offered to throw you a shower?" No one has, and I'm a little nervous! Not to be greedy, but we could really really use the help getting prepared. We just moved to a new town an hour and a half away so I'm not surprised no one here has offered, but we have tons of family around. Plus I'd just be a little sad if no one offered - like not being asked to the prom! </p>
