I checked out when I was 6 months pregnant. I was already having to pass files off since I was going to be off for a year, and they announced that my job was being eliminated 3 weeks after my EDD (so when I go back I'll be starting at a new position) so that made me even less motivated to be super stellar at my job.

I'm already having a hard time and I'm only 23 weeks! It's kind of slow for the time being, and most of my work right now is dependent on other people outside the company getting stuff done on their end, and they've all been slow. Between that and being super exhausted and now so physically uncomfortable (back pain, sciatica, ugh!) it's been really hard to keep up my motivation!!

Uuum thank God I graduated from my program when I was 21w along because I think I would have blown off my last year of grad school if i hadn't graduated just then. So I'll say 21w !!! It's pathetic but yeah...I was in full fledged baby mode...didn't want to think about or talk about anything but babies:)

I really started having trouble focusing at 34 weeks. Now I'm 38 weeks and I'm totally "checked out". Problem is that I wrapped up most of my projects and there's just no time to start a new one at this point. So I've just been doing small tasks, and I'm sooooo bored.

Hmm, I think about 2 weeks before my due date? I had some really big assignments I was trying to wrap up so once those were completed, I was totally exhausted and ready for maternity leave!

I think I checked out the day we found out! We are self employed and work from home, so it's easy for me to slack off since I only answer to myself. Couple that with a really busy spring/summer/fall and a higher-than-normal ratio of difficult clients and I've been ready for a mental vacation from work since April.

We've got less than six weeks to go. I'm grateful for a flexible job that allows me to work from home. Even still, it's hard to keep my motivation up in these final weeks. My job revolves around client deadlines so I don't really have control over the capacity of workload any given week; I've been lucky that we've had "slow" / "manageable" weeks this past month. Hoping it continues until I'm off for maternity.

When did you mentally "check out" of work in your pregnancy?
