When they told me that 2 wk restriction I immediately asked and that's what they said and that they tell all mothers. They had lots of new rules that year, including dads to not be present in the room when getting an epidural, which wasn't the case before. My discharge papers said the standard 2 weeks pp. I never got that with my first LO but they said its mandatory for discharge for all bc of the hormonal changes and driving are a bad combo? I figured (could be totally wrong) that I needed time for my stitches and scars to heal and if I was driving and had to slam on the breaks, it could be a problem. At my 6weeks pp appt, I was cleared.
