Probably around 3-4 wks? We set up the activity gym for her to encourage tummy time. She didn't really start interacting with the toys till about 6-8 wks though, I think?

I tied a Lamaze high contrast puzzle/book thing onto her playpen and she would love to stare at it and swat at it. I introduced it at about 1 month old.

Pretty much immediately. We put her on the playmat and she fell in love with one of her dangly toys (the octopus). That was the first thing she started cooing at, super cute. Then we would hand her the Windkle. She would grab the Winkle unintentionally many times. Finally, at 3 months, she grabs it, shoves it in her mouth and really seems to enjoy having something in her hands (and mouth).

I think around 3-4 weeks I would lay him on his activity mat with the toys dangling over him. He was interested in looking at them, especially if I shook the bar and made them move. It took another couple weeks for him to start batting at anything though.

I used to dangle stuffed animals like the Hungry Caterpillar and a Lamaze brand giraffe over my son's head as soon as we got home from the hospital. My son was very awake, so we had lots of hours to fill!

When did you introduce a "toy" to LO? Of course I'm using toy liberally...what did you introduce and when? Did they get what they were supposed to do with it?
