lo is only 13 days, so I don't have any long term experience, but we gave her formula from days 3-6, when my milk finally came in. it was really delayed to a rough labour. she's been ebf since then, even though I have tried to give her a bottle with some breast milk in it. she was not interested.

@BabyBoecksMom: that's basically what I had heard. Keep the nipples as slow ones so baby has to work as hard with the bottle.

We gave LO a bottle at 4 weeks. At 10 weeks we had a bottle refuser but was sorted by 12weeks. The bottles were breastmilk.

I gave mine a bottle when she was 5 days old. She is breastfed but I pump so that my husband can have some bonding tone with her, and so I can take a break. The lactation consultant said that a bottle should be introduced around the 3 week mark. She also said that it's not so much nipple confusion, but nipple preference, since the bottle is easier to get milk from. Just make sure to use a slow flow nipple and there shouldn't be a problem.

I gave her a bottle when she was 4 days old. She is now mostly breastfed but takes 2-3 bottles of pumped milk every day.

I gave my LO a bottle at the hospital. She was jaundiced and I needed to supplement with formula. I gave her a bottle + breastfed for the first 2 months of her life until she started rejecting the bottle at around 2.5 months. Since then I've exclusively breastfed. LO is turning 1 in 6 days!

I gave my LO a bottle of pumped milk for the first time at 2 weeks when I had mastitis, well my husband gave it to her. She usually got one a day in the evening. I think some of it just depends on your LO's personality. Mine was always a food lover so she'd drink her milk cold or warm but always had a boob preference.

My son is 4 weeks old, I have no need to give him a bottle yet (I am breastfeeding), but I am curious to when you started your babies on bottles?

I am a nanny so when I go back to work, he will be coming with me, so pumping/bottle feeding will be only for when I'm away from him which I don't see in the near future. But someone suggested to help with sleep to pump and have my husband bottle feed him.

My only concern is that I've heard giving babies bottles too early can cause baby-induced-early-weaning which I really don't want to happen. Has anyone had this happen to them?
