She did great, slept the entire way and received lots of compliments for being the best baby on the plane. The flight was during the summer, lots of family vacations were going on and the flight was full of crying children. I think the earliest I would have flown was 3 months.</p> <p>I don't think I would fly internationally with a baby that young unless absolutely necessary. There are vaccinations to consider. Also, you may not be able to obtain a passport that quickly. It took us 4 weeks to receive the birth certificate and, when we did apply for the passport when DS was 7-8 weeks, it took another 3-4 weeks to receive it. My only thing is if you plan to breastfeed you'll be nursing A LOT on the plane. How young of an infant would you feel comfortable taking on a plane?</p> <p>I just found out about a really amazing professional opportunity next summer, but it would involve an overseas flight and baby would only be like 6 or 7 weeks old (assuming all goes well and he/she is born around the edd...). Absolutely insane to even think about?? My mom and/or husband would come with me... </p>
