Where we live, most of the decent slopes aren't that close either - maybe the closest is an hour away? BUT our town has a tiny tiny bunny slope right in town, which I think will be perfect for Xander to learn on, so we're going to do that! Even when we lived in Switzerland, legit runs were at least 2 hours away by train and super expensive. There, kids go to ski school, as part of their regular schools, for at least 10 days every winter, it's how every kid learns to ski there. The problem is with continued exposure. I don't ski and my LO hasn't yet.
