But when she was about 15/16 months I started taking her out to eat and I was scared! The best place for me to take her is for pho because it's soooooooooooooooo quick - no waiting around and having to entertain her. Whenever we go out we always bring a small bowl, her utensils and a pair of scissors. At pho, I just dump some noodles and beef in her bowl, cut it all up, and she takes her spoon and goes nuts. </p> <p>Other than than pho, I haven't been brave enough to take her anywhere fancier by myself. Not too bad, though, considering how often I held him in the first few months (all.of.the.time). </p> <p>I used to take him out to eat with me a lot when he was a newborn and would sleep in the stroller or car seat or whatever. I started meeting friends for lunch pretty early on. I quickly learned that wearing her worked the best! Made for some awkward eating but she was always well behaved. I made sure it was child friendly, and went early enough (11:30am) that we wouldn't be a nuisance. I find that when LO is into the food, she is pretty well-behaved. I was pretty nervous having to manage her (ALONE!) and eat my food at the same time, but it all worked out in the end. </p>
