Then when I got home they used it as their own and paid it off every month to build up my credit. My first solo one I got at 18. I was a senior in high school. My dad was major pro getting a credit card but also major pro paying it off every month. So I had the fear of god instilled early about holding a balance. I'm glad he basically forced me to get one since I've never had a problem with lack of credit history.
