I'm 5m pp and am just now starting to fit into some of my pre-preg pants. I bought two pairs of pants in an in-between size, but wore my maternity pants until they were falling off of me!

I'm 6 weeks pp and still don't fit into my pre pregnancy jeans/pants. I had to buy just a couple of pants a size bigger the other day so I can wear them to work while I work on getting back into my pre-pregnancy ones!

@jennylynn: exactly! and every women is different, but they make us feel like we're abnormal or something when we're "supposed" to lose it breastfeeding and we're not. It gets discouraging!

@Coco Bee: yeah it's def. rough. I hate when people ask me how far I have left to go (which I think is rude to begin with) and then when I tell them they say "Oh you'll lose that in no time with breastfeeding". Ugh. And I know I'm blessed to have my daughter, and she is worth it, but it doesn't make it any easier. :(

I waited 3 months, then went to walmart to buy some cheap pants. I couldn't stand wearing maternity any longer, but didn't want to spend a ton in hopes that I would get back to a smaller size.

I re-made my pant wardrobe with leggings and jeggings. It's all about the elastic waist. :)

I'm 7 weeks PP, and I'm actually only several pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight. It's possible that I'll go back to my original size, but right now I'm thinking that my hips have permanently expanded. So I just bit the bullet over the weekend and bought some new jeans. I'll wait a while longer to get more pairs of new pants, just in case I drop another size... but I really needed some jeans that fit. Plus, I feel so much better about myself when I'm wearing clothes that fit.

@jennylynn: yeah, when I tell people I'm not losing any weight that make comments like, "Oh, well you should be, you're breastfeeding." yeah, thanks for the reminder! lol

It's so hard isn't it?! It's one of the biggest emotional struggles for me right now, and people tend to be clueless. I'm the kind of person that answers "how are you" honestly, so if I say, "Oh I'm really struggling with not being able to lose weight," EVERYONE has responded, "oh, but all you have to do is look at your baby and it's all better. Totally worth it!"
Um. no, I don't think so.

I love my son obviously, but seriously - I cannot depend on my baby for my happiness! that is a setup for emotional disaster!

@Coco Bee: I'm also not losing any weight even though I've been walking 2 miles everyday, and trying to be more active in general. If I remember right you're breastfeeding? I am also, and I'm starting to think I'm one of those unlucky women who hold onto the extra pounds until they wean.

I am 12 weeks pp and still have 15 lbs to lose too. There are two pairs of my jeans I can "fit" in, but they, like you, cause extreme muffin top and uncomfortableness. At about 8 weeks I went to a thrift store to find a few things to get me through til I lose more weight. I bought a pair of capris and a pair of jeans, otherwise leggings with dresses work for me too. I am not going to pay a lot of money for jeans i don't plan to wear for much longer, and I'm sick of maternity jeans.

I am working out several times a week (already went three times this week), so I'm *hoping* that helps get me there sooner. But I'm not sure, since I haven't lost ANY weight in 6 weeks despite exercising.

I didn't buy bigger pants. I lived in sweats and gauchos until my body slimmed down. I wore my bebe band again for a few months

LO is 2 1/2 weeks old and I just went out yesterday and bought new jeans. I still have 15 extra lbs so nothing fits and I couldn't handle going out in yoga pants anymore. I only had to go one size up, so I'm hoping by the end of summer I'll be back in my old clothes.

It takes time for your body to get back to normal. I fit in my jeans (properly) only 6 months after I gave birth. It takes longer for some than others.... but honestly your body changes. So don't see it as a size up, but rather a size that suits the new you.

I'm 6 weeks pp, and I've been able to button my jeans since about pp week 3, but they def. aren't comfortable or pretty. We're talkin extreme muffin topage. Is there a good chance this is my new size or am I being too impatient? I don't want to buy new jeans if I don't have to, but I also don't wanna hold onto false hopes and keep rubber banding my old pants when I could be comfortable. How long did you give it before you lost hope?
