I was overly paranoid, and waited till this week to introduce actually (LO just turned 14 months). My son loves homemade larabars (dates + any nut + coconut + vanilla ground up and rolled into balls). The only thing we were vigilant about not giving her before a year was honey. I'm allergic to shellfish so we don't ever have it in the house but it never crossed my mind to not give her any if we did have it.</p> <p>A lot of the new research seems to say that the earlier one introduces foods that could potentially cause an allergic reaction, the less likely they are to develop an allergy. We gave him some small bits of peanut butter over the weekend (he's 12.5 months).</p> <p>However, he did eat things like pesto with pine nuts or dried fruit that came from a bag that had nuts in it. The past two ped appointments I forgot to ask her when I could try it and she hasn't mentioned it either. She said she doesn't recommend waiting past a year for allergen foods (like eggs) but I'm not sure about nuts! </p> <p>My SIL feeds her 8 month old nut butters, but who knows if her ped actually OKed it or not. </p> <p>Did you wait until a year to give peanut butter? </p>
