I was working full time, paying my own bills, going to school full time, and basically feeling like I was hitting my head against the ceiling at home. I felt like I had all of the responsibilities of an adult but still being parented as a child. We went on a once in a lifetime family vacation the summer after 7th grade and I actually wished that my mom would break her leg so that we could go home. The last place I wanted to be at 13 was in a remote location with my parents.</p> <p>My mom and I are super close now. I told her when I went to college that moving out was the best thing to ever happen to our relationship! She can be very childlike though, so I feel as I get older she acts more and more like the child...which causes us to argue a lot. Now that I'm an adult, I don't have to live with her anymore. My mom and I had very dark times. Now we are so great... friends, peers, but very comfortable with each other and we respect each other so much. I'm very happy with that!! But we EARNED it... we went through the fire together. Mostly it was due to some serious depression + my mom being a nightmare, but we definitely had some epic fights. One time I went home for Thanksgiving and ended up driving back to college 12hrs later at 2am because of a giant blowup.
