I was 2cm and they started with a cervical ripening balloon for 24 hours and low dose pitocin after the first 12 hours of the balloon. I was 2cm at the apt. FWIW I answered stripping membranes - but, my OB stripped my membranes earlier in the week and it didn't do anything. The day I went into labor I did have an exam, but she didn't strip membranes - just told me she could feel the bag of water (3cm dilated) and was going to schedule an induction for after the weekend for 41w. No intervention for labor to start, contractions started on their own and my water broke before we decided to go to the hospital.
