@cait: That's a good idea!
@lamariniere: She absolutely gets it and I believe her when she says she doesn't have to go but it does seem like the time for her to realize she has to go and her going is short! She always yells "hurry hurry hurry" which is definitely partly our fault! Ha.
@skipra: yeah, I'm gonna ask today!
@autumnlove: yep! I have no problem cleaning up pee (probably because we CDed it never bothered me) but I don't want to put the burden on others.

We used a combo of cloth trainers, undies and pull-ups for a few months. I would keep her in undies for a trip to the park and quick errands but I was paranoid about accidents at other people's houses and long car rides.

We took his diapers away to train and never put him in after. He trained right around 23 months and now is almost 27 months. It did take a while for him to actually ask to use the bathroom if we were out (like within the last month or so) but he wasn't really having accidents - I just had to ask and watch closely. So far the only problem we've had is in a similar once a week program. He has had a couple accidents there when I haven't reminded him and the teacher that he will need to go. I bring with me a change of clothes and pull up just in case. Would they let you try regular undies and switching to training pants in case of accident?

I did it right away. He understood pee training the first day, so we took him out in underwear right away. I told him that I didn't have any diapers so if he needed to go, he would have to tell me. We didn't have any accidents in those first weeks when he went out in underwear. We had a few from time to time later(when he was definitely trained) if he was busy with an activity and "forgot".

Maybe there's a way to explain to your LO that the cloth pull-up is not a diaper? Like, if you called it her special daycare undies? From my experience and other mamas I've spoken to, kids do not tend to want to go back to going in a diaper after they are used to using the potty.

We rarely had accidents outside of the home when we started going out without undies, I think making sure to ask if they need to go often (even if it results in a few false alarm stops) helped.

so LO is like 80/20 with day training right now. (3-day method was basically shot to hell because she was already basically training herself) we've gone out and about with underwear and she's done great and then we get home and she might pee her pants and then say "potty!" afterward. then other days she's great at home all day if she's just wearing undies.

i just got her some cloth training pants because her once a week program requests some type of pull up, but i'd read enough on here about those not really being helpful and i think that if she's wearing a diaper-like item, she's gonna go full force in it.

so i guess my question is, at what point did you feel comfortable taking LO out and about full-time in undies/pants. is it realistic to assume she'll have accidents, but i need to just power through?
