We introduced at 3-4 weeks, and she took it with no problem. We weren't very good about giving them to her while I was on leave, but she continued to take the bottle well when I went back to work. We've been able to switch back and forth just fine.

Five weeks. I was worried I'd waited too long and she would reject it. My husband gave her three ounces of breast milk in a different room and when I heard crying after three minutes I assumed she'd hated it. As it turned out, she had crushed the bottle and was still starving! So fortunately, no problems.

Day 2 in the NICU, she wouldn't latch and she needed to eat due to her jaundice levels. She didn't take it until about day 5 (we syringed feed her the first few days)

She had a pacifier the second night and a bottle probably within the first two weeks? I had no problems with supply or BF'ing, and she will now happily take a bottle from DH, a bottle from me, nurse from me, switch back and forth (lol), etc. I think a lot of it depends on the baby. She also doesn't mind milk straight out of the fridge.

I experienced a bottle strike with my first because I introduced a bottle at 6 weeks, but didn't consistently keep it up…. so the 2nd time around, I introduced a bottle at 2 weeks and made sure I gave him at least one bottle every day.

Around 6-8 weeks. It took a couple tries but she took them like a champ after that with no issues. She gets bottles infrequently but for the full day (I'm a wedding photographer) and we're still going strong at 10.5 months.

I wanted to make sure my supply was fully in and our BFing relationship was good. I also didn't get my pump until 8 weeks so bottles were from me collecting milk from a milkie.

DS was introduced to the bottle and pacifier the day he was born. He was an IUGR baby and was struggling to maintain his body temp and didn't have any weight to lose. My milk didn't come in yet either so we formula fed. Plus, he was too small to breast feed bc my boob was huge compared to him. Once my milk came in, he still didn't take to breast feeding so I EP. We always put him to my breast before each feeding to see if he'd latch. Sometime during week 6, I put him to my breast and he latched on like he'd been breast feeding since day one!! It was amazing. He's 4.5 months now and never had nipple confusion. I feel so lucky.

We introduced successfully at 6 weeks as well.

ETA: we are still bf at 6.5 months with no plans to stop until after a year. She got a bottle once a day, for a dream feed.

She got a bottle on day 2 and we supplemented for a week or so. Then we waited another couple weeks before trying a bottle again and she refused. We couldn't get her to take on until about 4-5 months. I will definitely be introducing, and keeping, a bottle in rotation from the start with the next LO.

I have heard from a lot of BF moms that their LO did not take a bottle when they went back to work. (Or wanted a break, etc.) I have to go back to work after 12 weeks and want to be sure he is ok with a bottle, but want to preserve our BF relationship too. LO is 3 weeks old now and BF is going very well for us, I've pumped and frozen a decent sized stash already. When do you think is the ideal time to introduce a bottle, and how often should he get one?
