We put LO in her play gym early on for tummy time and started giving her things to hold between 2-4 weeks.

One week? My LO loved this high contrast rattle from the start:

DD is 3 months, and she definitely likes to look at toys now. She'll follow them with her eyes from one side to the other, and she loves staring at her carseat toy. She doesn't yet reach for toys or hold onto them for very long, even when I place them in her hands... So she isn't truly *playing* with her toys yet, but she's definitely intrigued by them. I think maybe around a month ago I noticed that she was becoming more interested in looking at toys and other objects.

At what age does a baby start noticing items around him/her? When do you introduce early developmental items like rattles, a mirror, etc?
