DS still hasn't tried lettuce. He's 17 months. He only has one molar so I think it would be hard for him to get down. He does love raw tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers from our salads though! And green olives. :)

Around 10 months. She goes through phases of hating it & loving it. It's not a staple in her diet lol

@yellowbird: my LO loves salad too! She started testing it out and eating it around a year or so, and at 2.5 eats salad several times a week at lunch at school and dinner at home.

16 months. I was eating some and he kept wanting some. He's strange bc he really likes salad and raw veggies too! But he won't eat pizza and mac n cheese. It's all very odd.

haha i gave my 5.5 mo a piece of lettuce to see what she'd do with it. she licked it and spit it out :) she has no teeth so i didn't really think she'd eat it! I think once she has the ability to actually chew some stuff rather than just gum it i'll try again

@blackbird: Babies are such good plate thieves!

@catomd00: Yeah, I just realized I should have framed the question as when they were able to actually eat leafy greens. I need more sleep :P

@Baby Boy Mom: @T.H.O.U.: So more like 2-3ish years old. It guess it makes sense after they get their molars that they can do more grinding and tearing.

My LO is weird because she's always been a fan of salads. She's been able to eat leafy greens as long as they're cut small since around 19 months. She loves salad!

Raw leafy greens were hard. Now at age three she will eat a few bites with dressing and can actually chew.

My 8 month old has had spinach that's baked in quiche but never "raw" leafy greens. She has no teeth though yet so might be a little tough for her to gum. I don't think there's any reason not to try it but probably easier in other forms if you're concerned about them ingesting it for the nutritional value.

Pretty much as soon as we started solids. But they got things like cucumber and tomato. At 20 months the little one still can't really handle leafy greens. I think that was after age two, maybe 2.5 for my eldest.

Pretty early on. Only because she reached over and took some off my plate and kept eating it....definirely by a year :) she's lost interest in it since then (except for the dressing, that it)

Just curious when you started giving your LO salad, or at least pieces of lettuce/spinach? I haven't tried it yet at 10 months and the thought came up while preparing dinner.
