I think when we're ready to leave the city, if ever. There's no way we'd be able to afford daycare, school & everything else living here. So it's mostly financially-based, I guess.

I didn't get the fever until 18 months pp so we started TTC soon after. I love the age gap that we have. The kids play so well together.

I really don't know if I'll ever feel ready. In theory I know that we want another before M is 3, but it's hard for me to imagine deciding that any month is the right month to TTC. Our first few months with M were so hard that I'm really scared :(

Once I got my period back at 7 months we decided to NTNP because we wanted our kids close in age, or rather, I wanted to pop them out as soon as possible so I could be done. :)
We felt emotionally ready for another and were good financially too.

we have my in-laws around to help right now, but they've been planning to make a move to oregon in the near future... so having kids closer together worked more in our favor than to wait and risk not having any help at all. we are so thankful for having family around, and it's made a world of a difference for us in helping us transition from 0-1 kid, and then again from 1-2 kids. i also always wanted my kids 2 years apart, so the decision was more logical than emotional. we were also financially able to support two.

@mrsjyw: my LO is almost 24 months and I still don't have baby fever like I did when we were first trying to get pregnant. I feel so awful for saying it but I am so happy and content with her that I don't have any baby fever. But we always wanted at least two kids so the practical side of me is winning out and we just started TTC. I've heard a lot of people get the fever bad when their kid is around 3...so I figure I'll hopefully already be pregnant when the strong desire for another baby hits me

@Bookish: @littlek: ditto!

For us, it will definitely be when we are financially able to have another. After that, we'll probably NTNP.

For my husband, it was all about finances. Daycare is very expensive. For me, we needed to wait for my body to recover, DR said 16 months.

For us it's going to be based solely on finances. Can we afford another daycare payment this month? Nope, ok, on to the next one. ;)

For #2?

I've had bouts of baby fever come and go-- the questions haven't stopped from family/friends/coworkers about when #2 is coming....etc...

While I know that I def want to TTC for LO#2 in the future, I'm not really sure I'll have "OK- this month" I'm ready attitude like I did with TTC ds.

I think moreso because I have this romantic fantasy of a surprise BFP.... but also because we're in that transition period of DS about to turn one and still wanting to see him grow up a lil bit more before we throw a babydos into the picture.

When did you know you were ready?

eta:// we are definitely financially ready, i think it's the emotional one that i can't get a grasp on!
